Furnace Troubleshooting, check these steps before calling for service
Before calling an HVAC technician for furnace issues, there are a few simple things you can check yourself. Please note that these suggestions do not involve taking apart your furnace or tampering with gas or electrical parts.
Check the thermostat. In many cases, furnace problems can actually be caused by issues with the thermostat. Make sure the thermostat is on and set to heat. If it is a battery-operated thermostat, ensure it has fresh batteries. If the heat icon is blinking, wait until it stops before proceeding, as it can take 3-5 minutes depending on the programming.
Check the furnace switch. Many furnaces have a dedicated switch, which looks like a typical light switch and is usually labeled. Look around the furnace for the switch and see if it has been turned off by accident. If it has, turn it on and wait a few minutes to see if the furnace comes on. Keep in mind that some furnaces may not have a dedicated furnace switch.
Check the main breaker. If a breaker has tripped, it could be causing your furnace issues. Check your breaker box for any tripped breakers. If you find a tripped furnace breaker, do not turn it back on and instead call a professional to investigate the cause. Breakers are safety devices and they trip when there is a problem with the equipment or wiring.
Check the filters. Proper air flow is essential for your furnace to operate at its optimal efficiency. Filter problems can restrict airflow in the furnace and potentially make it seem like it is producing less heat. It can also cause the furnace to overheat and shut off.
Check your heat registers. Airflow problems can also be caused by closing or blocking too many registers. Make sure your registers are open and that your return air vents are not blocked.
Check the exhaust pipe. Gas furnaces have vents that release their exhaust outside. If this vent becomes blocked, it can impact the furnace and create a safety hazard. Check the outside of the furnace to make sure the vent is not blocked, especially if there has been a large amount of snowfall.
If you are not comfortable or unable to complete these checks, or if they do not resolve your furnace issues, please call a professional.

would as 50/50 motor antifreeze work as well? would it need to diluted. The properties of, from my research, or coolant antifreeze for motors is different from the antifreeze of marine/rv pink antifreeze (pure antifreeze).

I don't know if you got your issue sorted out with z going to home position. If you didn't, try this. In fusion 360 CAM, in the post processer part there is a box for "safe retract" make sure this this is not set to G28 and to clearance height. Hope this helps.

  • @ianmoone2359

I suspect from having watched Kieth Rucker & Steve Watkins do this same process that you may have “chased your tail” a bit, due to not using precision flat stones to remove your power scraping burrs before blue printing your scraped surface each time. It’s a lot more work scraping if your blue printing result is being influenced by burrs that protrude above the surface and influence the pattern you achieve. Whilst milling it flat at the start does save time, you might have saved a lot more time if you had precision ground the surfaces after milling. I think with pre vision grinding after milling, then employing precision ground flat stones to remove your scraping burrs you could have cut down the scraping time by factor of 10 probably.

BT30 spindle taper? I am guessing that the ATC spindle you have has a top RPM of 18000. Which means it has plenty of torque at much lower speed than generic 2.2kW spindles. Are you happy with it? Can you share where you got it? Satisfied with the runout? There is so much more choice in BT or ISO 30

Nobody mentions how to home the rotary axis especially when you use tombstone or sqaure stock. Do people just use dial indicator to square a flat surface? I see no proximity sensor.

So many people focus on the task of scraping, and not how you to check the geometry of the machine, and the progress of the work, which is the most critical part of scraping. You did an excellent job of emphasizing that. I've been scraping for over 40 years, and teaching machine tool alignment and fit (scraping) for the last ten. I must say, your methods are unique, but quite effective. Keep up the good work.
